This last Day (Or what I like to call: two days till school's out!)
Where does one begin this blog thing? I am at loose ends as to where to start so I'm gonna pick up in the middle, kinda like breaking a twinkie in two and starting with the cream. Maybe it will be easier that way.
There are approximately 26 hours left until summer break. What should I do with the last day before my kids stay home everyday till August? Ah . . . . .
"Even now, days later, my mind is completely blank."
How about a list? Of Summer.
1. The Sun comes up earlier and the alarm clock is set later! (It would have been nice to have this during the school year. Instead of the blanket of darkness as I sent my darlings to the bus stop.)
2. My Kids are home.
3. Early morning runs.
4. shorts and flipflops
5. The Bluest Sky
6. Hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk.
7.Eating watermelon for dinner.
8. Pedicures in all kinds of colors.
9. Late summer evenings on the patio with family.
10. I love how summer smells. The air thick and still.
It's amazing that God engages all of our senses to enjoy His creation. Every season, He has given a certain look, smell, sound, taste, and feel. Summer is one of my favorites! Thank you, Lord God, for that first taste of summer peaches. The heat of the day.The cool of the summer evening. The giggle of my children as they chase lightening bugs. The way the stars shine on a summer night. Everything is soft and bright. What glory You shed on our way.
